Japanese Language

  I think it’s important to speak in a language community, because it educates all of us to speak professionally in the same manner. It kind of reminds me of when we are in a group of how we have to pay attention to how we say certain Japanese languages and how to sound them out. It can be very important to educate the people around us, especially if we are learning a new language to say it the correct way. I think there are certain aspects of speaking just like someone from the United States but doesn’t speak English. It's important for them to speak English because they are entering a country that speaks nothing but English. So, taking classes and the person learning how to speak that language is part of the language community, because it needs other people to help them learn how to speak English and speak it properly. It’s kind of the opposite for us that are American, and I think it’s important with any race or country that wants to learn how to speak a certain language. ...

  My reflection on writing was that this was much harder than the first one, because the languages switch for every chart and you have to make sure they are in the correct order based on the sound that they make and how you pronounce them. I still think it was a great exercise, not just for me, but for the rest of the class as well. I can tell it’s going to take a little time to get used to it, which I understand because it can be a lot more work than I expect. What I love about learning the charts and writing them down is to learn how to say Japanese languages the correct way. With the katakana chart it’s more to remember than to forget because it comes with another chart and you have to remember the proper way to remember how you see it so you can remember what that handwritten language means. I think our class being in groups helps us understand the chart a bit faster. It helps us enjoy learning and making the chart by catching one another up.

  When you confront the way you behave and how you carry yourself when you are around different cultures of people. The whole society is itself, but when you are around different cultures of people, that's when you start to understand how people around you carry themselves and the way they act around you. It definitely catches up to this generation the more people learn. As American people try to learn and understand different cultures and learn how to speak a certain language, we kind of find it funny, because we are not used to speaking that way, let alone the gestures that some cultures use when they speak their languages. There are so many differences when you are interacting with other cultures, because not all cultures do stuff the same. So it makes our behavior feel different, because we have so many reactions to speaking and acting differently when we are around other races of people and different languages. I'm Done!  

  While reading the Japanese genre study there were a few things that stood out to me. It was kind of hard try to understand where the author and illustration was at, so my group and I were having a hard time because there were so many Japanese languages on the book which made it very confusing. The style of the writing is what I definitely expected to be because I know we were taught in class how there are no spaces or not barely any periods and their periods look quite different from English. By the look of the book the images seem to be about a family of a mother, father, and two kids. Through the book the father started off having a rough day while going to work. And it showed two different emotions of how the children’s and mother day was going in the book. I think the book was also showing telling different sides of the story as well that’s what also made the book confused because we thought certain characters were the father and it wasn’t. I think it was a lot going on ...

  While creating this chart it was definitely a different experience for me trying to write the hiragana chart correctly. I tried my best to make sure I made enough room to fit them all on the chart correctly in order as possible. I think as an American that is a different race, it’s a great exercise to take the time and learn different languages, races, and cultures. Understanding the history behind it is very powerful. I'm a slow learner, but I know once I get the hang of it, I will know how to say most of them. I think the organization is very important because one of the reasons is that you can stay on track and memorize how to say them correctly and know how to write them. I think it’s also a great exercise to make sure my craft is good. I can’t know what it reminds me of when I’m writing so that I can remember how to say it. The best part about this assignment is getting our own practice for ourselves so we can get much better at it.

  Round 1. What I noticed in the book when I first took a look at it was the words that are in certain areas in the pictures that are in the book. Also, I saw people interacting with each other in the book so I’m guessing it’s us learning what the proper Japanese language is to know. Which I think is a great way for us to know the language.    Round 2. The words that I recognize in the book were  sumimasen  Ohayou Gozaimez  Osaki ni  Round 3. People interacting with their environment and normal daily experience would be the similarity. The words stood out to me as they were merging in my head.
