Community & Mentoring
I think it’s important to speak in a language community, because it educates all of us to speak professionally in the same manner. It kind of reminds me of when we are in a group of how we have to pay attention to how we say certain Japanese languages and how to sound them out. It can be very important to educate the people around us, especially if we are learning a new language to say it the correct way. I think there are certain aspects of speaking just like someone from the United States but doesn’t speak English. It's important for them to speak English because they are entering a country that speaks nothing but English. So, taking classes and the person learning how to speak that language is part of the language community, because it needs other people to help them learn how to speak English and speak it properly. It’s kind of the opposite for us that are American, and I think it’s important with any race or country that wants to learn how to speak a certain language.
It is important to help someone else with their learning of another language, because it can be much-needed everywhere you go. Basically, it can be an emergency, it can be on a job, it can be with family, so you never know. Being part of your own community does not mean it’s not important to know other languages. Plus, I think it is an amazing skill to have from someone that is part of a different culture. I think the best way of collaborating is to get someone to speak a language that someone else wants to learn and have that person mentor the person who wants to learn. I’m also glad that there are classes where you can learn to speak any language because it’s just like knowing every culture or race and what it stands for. I think it would help lots of people to be involved because there are more classes where you can take plenty of languages and they would want to learn because who wants to only speak one language that you have been speaking all your life. It would also encourage others to do so; you know and you can show them the type of skill that you have by speaking another language and they think that’s pretty cool.
In the future, by knowing how to speak English I would definitely love to walk away and help and show other people how to write a hiragana and katakana chart and explain to them how to pronounce the Japanese languages. It’s definitely Important to help others because there are many people in the US still that don’t know how to speak English, so learning a different language could also be helpful to other people who don’t speak the same language as you. It’s like you kind of feel bad for that person because you wish you could help them out by safety or spark a conversion because you don’t speak their language, so I think it can be helpful in many ways.
Brief summary
I think it would be a good brainstorm to have while thinking about how other people can relate to you by speaking another language. It’s very interesting to be a part of a great activity and learn step-by-step on how to learn to speak another language. By explaining it to other people I hope to encourage people that I know, like family, friends, or even people I go to school with to try something like this.
